A plane carrying 81 passengers, including a top-flight Brazilian soccer team, crashed on the outskirts of Medellín, Colombia on Nov. 29., killing 76 people. At least five people, including two players Alan Ruschel and Jackson Follman survived the crash. Among the passengers were 21 journalists who were travelling with the team.
The team, Chapecoense, which plays in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A was heading to Colombia to take part in the first leg of the Copa Sudamericana final against Atletico Nacional – which has now been postponed. The flight, operated by the LAMIA airline, took off from Bolivia.
